The Emerging Leaders Community is a national cohort of interdisciplinary, early career professionals and advocates who are relatively new to the disability field. Emerging Leaders participate in leadership, academic, and professional growth so they can make positive changes with and for people with disabilities and their families at the local, state, and national level.

AUCD approached All Things Creative to develop a series of short orientation and training videos for the Training Liaisons that would break down the concepts within the training manual. Originally, the desire was for a “talking head” style video. However, we provided recommendations to develop something more engaging.
We worked with the Emerging Leaders Program Manager to develop two animated training videos that reflected the content and also the diversity of the audience the program serves.
We worked closely with the team to develop a script and storyboards for the videos that covered all of the content in the training manual in a more condensed format. Using the existing branding, we designed and overall visual template for the videos that followed the color palette of the existing branding. We then developed visual assets and characters that reflected this identity and the program’s core audiences. Since AUCD serves the disability community, it was important that persons with disabilities be reflected visually, so we developed characters that met this criteria.
Finally, we produced the animated videos in an accessible format with closed captioning and audio descriptions.
