Welcome to Discussions on Creativity and Commerce, the official blog of All Things Creative. The purpose of this blog is to get you thinking and talking about design and its role in business, and to share methods for using design as a competitive advantage.

You may be thinking, “What does all of that mean?” or “Creativity and Commerce? How are those two things even related?” That’s exactly why we’re here.

When we think of commerce, we normally think of money—the exchange of goods for a profit. However, commerce not only encompasses trade, but also the exchange of views, attitudes, and ideas on a social platform.

How does this exchange normally take place? Enter creativity—the ability to transcend these traditional views, attitudes and ideas to create new forms, methods, and interpretations. This is usually design’s main goal, no matter what form it takes. Whether it’s an app, a car seat, or a process. Now more than ever, creativity and commerce are interdependent.

So that’s what it’s all about. Sometimes I’ll share knowledge that I think will help you in your quest for business success. Sometimes I’ll rant. Sometimes I’ll ask you some questions and look for your thoughtful responses. No matter what, I hope you will find this blog informative, engaging, and thought provoking. Got a question, or something you’ve always wanted to learn?

Let’s talk.
